An Affordable Mavic 3 Classic Is on the Way for FCC Filings

It has been less than a year since the DJI Mavic 3 debuted in the drone market with its luscious features and a rather enchanting price tag. The 12MP telephoto lens with 28x hybrid zoom, and a 20MP lens that can capture 5.1K videos are a few of the features that the drone itself boasts.

At the hefty price tag of $2,199, it is a bit of a deal breaker even for the professionals who require its services dearly. But to share a bit of good news a simpler and more affordable version of the Mavic 3 by the name of DJI Mavic 3 Classic is in production and is scheduled to debut probably in the coming months.

FCC filings are to begin shortly

Whenever a new aerial product is manufactured and scheduled to launch FCC approval is mandatory and all the proceedings become the responsibility of the production company. For DJI Mavic 3 Classic the FCC filings are to begin shortly which means that the production and vigorous testing of the new UAV and other essential elements are now complete. Once FCC issues a certificate of completion for the new Mavic 3 Classic in correspondence to its mandatory UAV inspection and safety regulations the drone will likely launch in a few weeks.

What has changed, and what hasn't?

Coming to a more significant topic of discussion, what are the adjustments or modifications that have been implemented in the DJI Mavic 3 Classic only a little is known. There have been leaks online about the features and specifications of the DJI Mavic 3 Classic but nothing has been uttered in an official capacity yet. The main difference however between both drones will be that the classic will drop the Mavic 3's telephoto camera and will only offer a single 20MP four-thirds CMOS sensor for shooting purposes.

DJI will be able to lower the price with this change, but you will still get a decent price-to-performance ratio. The updated Mavic 3 series of drones will feature the Mavic 3 Classic and will have the best of both the Mavic 3 and the DJI Mavic 3 Cine. On another front, the DJI Mavic 3 Classic will issue only 8GB of internal storage compared to a whopping 1TB on the Mavic 3 Cine. There is some codec neutralization that has been done which means the new Mavic 3 Classic will not allow you to work with Pro Res Apple codec which is a bit more demanding and therefore embedded into the Mavic 3.

Should you be hyped for Mavic 3 Classic?

The Mavic 3 Classic isn't the same as the original, but consumers can get a great product for less money. But there are things that you will get with the new Mavic 3 Classic that were a big hit with the Mavic 3. The Mavic 3 Classic is an excellent option for video creators, vloggers, or anyone who enjoys capturing cinematic shots with exceptional detail on a budget.
